Five Haiku by Paul Eluard

Five Haiku
by: Paul Eluard

The wind
Undecided
Rolls a cigarette of air

The mute girl talks:
It is art's imperfection.
This impenetrable speech.

The motor car is truly launched:
Four martyrs' heads
Roll under the wheels.

Ah! a thousand flames, a fire,
The light, a shadow!
The sun is following me.

A feather gives to a hat
A touch of lightness:
The chimney smokes.

Five Haiku by Paul Eluard

Four Haiku by Matsuo Basho

Four Haiku
by: Matsuo Basho

Spring
A hill without a name
Veiled in morning mist.

The beginning of autumn:
Sea and emerald paddy
Both the same green.

The winds of autumn
Blow: yet still green
The chestnut husks.

A flash of lightning:
Into the gloom
Goes the heron's cry.

Haiku Poems For Her

Haiku Poems For Her

Haiku Poems about love

She knows everything
I fell for her from the start
Lucky to have her

Laying on my chest
Smelling her fragrant, long hair
Oh! I feel the care

Picture in my mind
Reminiscing about her
Missing the good times

Romantic dinner
Red candle on the table
What a lovely night!

Whispering the lines
Sweet words came out to my mouth
I'm ready to fall

Care the for the present
The past is not important
Ready for the future

Light up the candle
Tonight we share happiness
Good time to propose

A promise to keep
Spending my whole life with her
For better or worse

Happy to meet her
She's the reason why I breathe
Loving her is great

I'd stop everything
Spend my whole day just for her
Can't wait to see her

Dreaming the good days
Thinking whole day about her
Love drives me crazy

My love is for you
Protecting you at all cost
Reasons why I live

The day is special
Today, the ring is ready
You and me as one

Showing you I care
Making you safe is my goal
A promise to keep

My heart is ready
I'm falling for her again
Chances are open

Always keep the faith
Keeping you inside my heart
Nothing hinders us

Seeing an angel
Staring at her lovely face
Oh! This is heaven!

Great love never dies
Only time makes it fade
Still it conquers all

Oh! It's really hard
Times like these make us crazy
Tomorrow, I'll leave

The past was heavy
Everyday seems like autumn
Still in love with her

Here are some examples of haiku poems about love ( haiku love )

Heart is beating fast
The feeling of happiness
Inspires me to smile

Hear my heart beating
I'll stay with you forever
Keeping a promise

Stare from here bright eyes
Keeps the heart beats faster
Amazing feeling

Keeping in my heart
A promise until the end
Stay here forever

Cuddling on the bench
Enjoying the scenery
Ah! Priceless moment!

Holding her soft hands
Walking at the lovely shore
Moments I treasured

Fireworks light the sky
Great moments to express love
Forever  you'll stay

Lovebirds in the cage
The couple loves each other
Romantic indeed!

Finding my soul mate
Searching for the right person
Once in a lifetime

Picking a red rose
Pretty lady is waiting
Bringing her a gift

Caressing her soul
A smile on her lovely face
The feeling is great

Love means happiness
Will sacrifice everything
Full of emotions

Singing with guitar
Serenading a woman
The night is perfect

Running in the shore
Chasing a lovely lady
Love is in the air

Watching the sunset
Hold my hands, never let go
Stay here forever

Enjoying the view
Your head is on my shoulder
The feeling is great

Singing our theme song
Seeing your face with a smile
Bond us together

Haiku Poems For Children

Haiku Poems For Children

Haiku is a good way to practice our skill in making poems especially for children who loves poetry. Making haiku poems is a great activity for children who are studying Haiku.

Here are some examples of haiku poems made by children:

I have many cats
They like playing in the fog
They like to cuddle!

I'm just a kid
I like to play with my friends
Smile and be happy

We call ourselves hope
Future is in our own hands
Studying for better

Running on the field
Cheering and laughing with friends
Being young is great

I love my cute dog
He barks when he is happy
Run with him outside

Winter is so great
Hot chocolote for breakfast
Making a snowman

Dancing in the rain
Running and cheering outside
its so fun to play

Children of the sun
Lets enjoy the summer heat
Go outside and burn

Waving in the breeze
Passing through my whole system
Dancing with the leaves

Friends make me happy
Cannot wait to laugh with them
Feels good to see them

I watch it fly
Covering the entire white cloud
Someday we'll both fly

Lets see the old bear
I wanna hug and kiss him
His name is teddy

Run, run, run all day
Watching the birds fly up high
Laying on greenfield

Haiku Poems About Animals (Underwater)

Haiku Poems About Animals (Underwater)

Living under the sea
From one ocean to another
It's their life

Thousands of penguins
Sunbathing on the seashore
Feel the summer heat

Goldfish in the bowl
Flipping fins to make good stroke
Swim to make a smile

Giant squid is myth
No one dares to see it
Even a great pirate

Platoon of jellyfish
Convert them to poison
Disaster to all

Dolphins in the sea
Applause for the performance
Such a lovely scene

Turtle with hard shells
Slow on land, fast in water
Breathe for hundred years

Killer whales on sight
Features are so deceiving
Don't try to touch them

I caught a big fish
Using fine nets made for them
Let's call for a fest

Corals are gorgeous
Let's protect and conserve them
Amazing creatures

Hunting in the deep
Great shark moves like assassins
One bite you are dead

Amazing seahorse
All male carries the babies
Let them reproduce

Shark with strong sharp teeth
Keep yourself away from them
and they won't haunt you

Dolphins are friendly
Keep them safe, away from harm
Give back and say thanks!

Flying fish can't fly
But they can jump so high
Lenses are ready

Huge whale approaching
Give him the way or you die
Such a huge creature!

Life in deep blue sea
Blessing for the human race
Taken for granted...

Our sea is big
Greed is what makes it small
Lets do something to conserve

Lets pray for their souls
For those who throw dynamites
Pity for small fish

Walk like a penguin
Be strong like teeth of shark
Sweet like a dolphin

Haiku Poems About Animals

Haiku Poems About Animals

Another interesting topic aside from nature are the animals. Animals is a great topic not only for haiku poems but in all aspects. From smallest to biggest or from tamed to wild, we can express our thoughts about them using haiku poems. We can even use our lovely pets as the topic to enhance our skill in making haiku poems.

A lot of modern haiku use ordinary pets like dogs, cats and birds as the center of the poem.  Of course it also goes the same with wild animals living in the forest. In fact Matsuo Basho used frogs in most of his famous haiku poets. Below is an example.

Furu ike ya                 Old pond!
    kawazu tobikomu       frog jumps in
      mizu no oto                 water’s sound

Here are more examples of haiku poems about animals.

Haiku Poems About Animals

Howling under the moon
Conditioning the pack
Preparing to hunt

Strong teeth like a steel
Moves with great agility
King of the forest

Roaring from distance
Protecting the territory
Fierce on his eyes

Running fast and quick
Hitch with a carriage behind
Horse moved by a whip

All ducks are quacking
Farm full of friendly creatures
Town is different

Eggs from chicken
Chicks running behind their mother
Farm is lively!

Living on greenfield
Providing us with fresh milk
Cows eating green grass

Horseback right is great
Feel the air passing through your face
Tiring yet so fun

Hear the birds chirping
Sipping fresh and tasty milk
Live in paradise

Hatch fresh eggs today
Chickens are so noisy
Let them find worms to eat

Wolves are so witty
Hunting preys is they do
Sharp claws are ready

Born in the wild
Twelve strong members in the pack
Lead by an alpha wolf

Sharp strong teeth are out
Ready to kill enemies
Two alphas on sight

Climb trees with bare hands
Swinging and jumping on trees
Monkeys are laughing

Crawling silently
Binding its prey with poison
Venom is flowing

Lurking in the dark
They can't see but they can feel
Bats are mysterious

Barking to protect
Always there to cheer you up
Dogs are man's best friend

The dog is running fast
While chasing a Frisbee ball
They won the first prize

A mouse saw a cheese
Grabbed it without thinking
The poor mouse got trapped

Forgot to lock the cage
The zookeeper is confuse
They got their freedom

Haiku Poems About Nature

Haiku Poems About Nature

Haiku Poems About Nature

Most of the haiku poems are written about a part of nature, or at least mother earth is always the topic. It could also be about creatures living in woods, four seasons (winter, spring, summer and fall ), or  just mainly about nature.  Lots of haiku poems are focusing in nature and even famous haiku poets used it as their main topic. Being one with nature is an amazing experience and expressing it in haiku makes it more artistic. It's also a great way to express our sympathy with nature. Especially now that environmental issues are becoming more extreme.

Here are some Haiku poems about nature.

the green leaves are gone
Missing all the memories
Autumn please don't come

my heart is crying
Our mother is in great pain
How can we save her?

the leaves keep falling
Our nature is in danger
Still I'm just staring

If you are soft to them
The young sparrows
Will poop on you

Before I see green
Today I see deadly air
Tomorrow will end

I chopped wood all day
I bring poisonous basket
Now butterflies are gone

What to do with them,
In this world of coarse matter –
Ah, the butterflies!?

Creatures have homes
they call it environment
Humans ruin them

Rain is a soother
It drizzles from the heavens
Makes our mind to calm

Hug every tree you see
Tomorrow wont be the same
Green will turn to brown

Flowers are growing
I feel the wind blow past me
My heart keeps smiling

The seed is popping
Sun is helping it to grow
Let it live for years

The sun is rising
Thick blue sky is turning dark
We should stay inside

Let the moon appears
As the shining light goes
Let all close their eyes

Spiders climbing up
Keep falling from the strong wind
Huge tall trees help them

Sunlight melts the ice
The water is rising high
Sea is expanding

Haiku Poems About Nature

What is Haiku?

What is Haiku? And How to make a Haiku poem?

Haiku is a poetic form or a type of poetry from Japan. It was formed from the rich culture and imaginative thinking of Japanese people. A Haiku poem  has meaningful yet compact group of  words  that sometimes talk about nature, events or any thoughts that come out from one's mind. More often, haiku poems are random moments expressed in a brief yet imaginative and artistic way.

A common haiku poem is consist of 17 words divided in three phrases of five, seven and five syllables. Modern haiku appears to have its own style especially poems written in English. Experts say that English haiku poems are flexible when it comes to syllable and its line counts. It is  a common practice that it focuses more on condensed form of haiku. While the traditional haiku's are more dependent to nature and current season.

Here are some examples of haiku poems:

Curving up, then down
Meeting blue sky and green Earth
Melding sun and rain

Birds fly in the air
Birds can make nests in tall trees
Birds have nice big wings

Dancing lights from sky
Crackers roaring on the land
Let this one year ends

Buzzing bumble bees
Collecting lot of nectars
They have sharp stingers

While the big dog barks
Afraid cats hide to safety
The laughing thin mice

Snow is so pretty
Let me make a friendly ice
We smile at the cold

Eat my precious dust
I can see the finish lane
Let me win this race

Seeking warm refuge
Creatures hide in snow shelters
winter's wrath delayed

Deep from blue sea
A blessing from the heaven
let me taste your soul
